I made and decorated this baby shower cake. It tasted even better than it looks.

The top layer was lemon cake with lemon curd filling.

The bottom layer was chocolate cake with cream cheese and berry fillings.

September 21, 2007 - Preschool goes to the fair

Robbie got to go along. The big kids didn't have school that day. The girls went to their freind's house to play.

Robbie got a generous package from Rob's high school shop teacher and wife. They are always so kind to send the kids new outfits and such as they get older.

Well, this picture turned out a bit blurry. But you can see my cute kitties anyway. I had been in the computer room looking up some things online for Ma. I decided I better go check on the kids. I found these two painting their faces with water colors. If you look closely, you will see Aimee's jaguar spots. Ashlee has many colors painted randomly all over her. That is because she is a calico.

By the way, Robbie was in bed with Ryan. Ryan was supposed to be laying down for his nap and Robbie didn't want him to keep getting up and getting in trouble so he laid down with him. Isn't he a nice big brother?

We went to the community pool in Jonesboro, Arkansas today and had a ton of fun. Ryan and Aimee really enjoyed the kiddie pool. While Ashlee and Robbie's favorite was the water slide!

We've heard there is an even nicer pool in Paragould. We are planning to go there next Wednesday. It has two BIG water slides and a kiddie play area in water. We drove by it today and there are water fountains and all kinds of stuff to play in. We are quite excited.

Rob came home from California today. He was helping his brother move from Pennsylvania to California. He also got to do some fishing in the pond with his dad. They caught quite a few and according to the fisherman's tale one was 21" long. Do we believe him? I don't know, but the great thing was, they had a blast.

We went to a free fun, games and food thing at the kids school. The kids had lots of fun. It was quite hot and humid though!

The difference a year makes...

OK, So I've been sorting through old pictures and doing some filing on the computer. I noticed these two pictures were taken about a year apart from each other. And I like the improvement! I'm working to continue the improvement. Watch for updates!

Little Rock on a Dime

Rob needed to go to Little Rock to pick up and drop off stuff today. We also took the Gray kitten to her new home in Little Rock. Since U-haul was paying for Rob to drive to and from Little Rock we were able to spend a few more dollars and take the kids downtown for some exploring. (Photographers note: After we got home I discovered a huge finger print on the lens. So all of these photos have a haze to them. I edited some of them to be improved.)

First we went to the visitor center in a really old restored building... This little playhouse was restored out front.



Next we went downtown and found some public parking. We walked a block or so to the Old State House. This building was used from early Arkansas days until 1911 as the States governing house. It has since been restored (a couple of times) and houses an Arkansas history museum. President Clinton held his inaugural parties in the front lawn area of this building when he won each of his Presidential elections. My favorite part here was the darkened room that housed outfits that the first ladies of Arkansas wore. We didn't really get to see all of this museum because it was not as interesting to the young ones as it was to mom and dad.





Next we walked on down the road and went into the Peobody Hotel and saw the ducks in the water fountain in their lobby. If you watched Oprah and Gail's trek across the United States you may have seen their segment on the ducks make a grand entrance and departure from the fountain in the lobby of this hotel each day. Well we missed their grand entrance, but we did see them. Of course, I didn't capture a picture for some reason. Perhaps I was too busy making sure the two year old was not going for a swim with the ducks?

We continued down the street and caught the trolley to the River Walk area. Here there are shops and eateries. During this time of year there is also a huge farmer's market. We didn't purchase any produce, but it was fun to walk around and watch people bargaining and sampling wares. We found a little table and all shared some mexican food for lunch (it had the shortest line). And the mexican food was surprisingly authentic for being in Arkansas. Anyway, no pictures of that either LOL.

Next we again caught the long trolley. It goes over to where the Clinton Library is, but by that time we were done walking and didn't think it would particularly interest the kids. Again no picture. But here are pictures of the kids playing in a water fountain while we waited for the trolley across from the River Walk area.

We got off the trolley near wear the car was parked and drove on to North Little Rock where we went to see a replica of an Old Mill. Rob ended up staying in the car with Ryan sleeping. But the kids and I walked around this place a bit. There were a lot of people taking pictures there. The kids had fun running around to all the different bridges and things.

It was a fun day. And we were home before too late, which was nice too.

Kittens all together for the last time.

This is thhe last picture of all the kittens together. Taken the night before the Gray one went to her new home. All but the Buff boy that we are planning to keep have now been spoken for.

The boys like to play together. They both whine when you try to hold them. They just want to play!


OK, So Ashlee did her makeup, but forgot to brush her hair and put a shirt on! Anyway, here is another cute picture with the grey kitty.

All are available for adoption. But I would like to see them go to a loving home that will be spay/neutering.

Today Ashlee lost her first tooth!

She was getting anxious to have it out. Daddy tied some dental floss to it and said she could pull it or play with it or whatever. Then when she had pretty much forgotten it was there daddy grabbed it as she walked by and pulled up!

I doubt she'll trust daddy to tie floss to her tooth next time, but she was happy to have the big space in her mouth. She was one of only two in her first grade class that had not lost any teeth by the end of the year.

Mississippi Visit

We visited with Rob's mom's uncle and his family today. We met Ma's cousins, Robin and Penny (Rae) and their kids. I didn't take many pictures which makes me sad now. But I had to get a picture of Aimee with her "twin"!

We had a very nice visit and hope to go back much sooner. Rob had not seen these relatives since he was a boy.

Grand Canyon

As you can see, we had a great time on our Trip out to Arizona and California.

Beach!

On Saturday of the District Convention it worked out that the kids and mommy got to go to the beach after the session. We hadn't planned for it so all we had were our convention clothes, but we had a blast.

San Diego "Follow the Christ!" District Convention

On June 7th Grandma took us to meet Uncle Charley halfway to California. We then traveled to California with him. The Kempton's were kind enough to let the children and I stay at their home during the District Convention and we travelled to and from each day with Uncle Charley. We had a wonderful time and saw lots of Mommy's old friends.

Made it to Grandma's

On June 2nd, we drove away from our house in Arkansas with Grandma and Grandpa. We dropped Grandpa at the airport in Little Rock and drove on to Arizona. The trip went fairly well. Only a couple of two year old episodes in the evening.

While we were staying at grandma's Robbie and Ashlee perfected their swimming enough to start using the diving board. But silly mommy never took any pictures of that!
