The really neat thing about these pictures not only is the posing subject, but that our three year old Ryan took all of these pictures! He is quite the photographer. And what a lovely subject!
Aimee's class had a program today. We received a note home saying that she would be an ant in the program. She could be a red or black ant, but we needed to come up with some kind of simple costume. I of course forgot until the day before. But we managed. What I thought was neat was that although the ants were given freedom to choose red or black they ended up with exactly four black and four red ants.
The program was super cute. It was about who took the cookies. The went through the song several times, each time accusing a different animal. It ended up being the ants that took those cookies! And guess who brought home a big cookie off the wall as a souvenier - my little ant.
Today, just a day after the 1st grade and two days after the 4th grade field trips, was Ashlee's classes Family Farm Day. Her teacher grew up on this farm. They had a ton of activities planned. There was kettle corn, pony rides, face painting, cow milking, hay ride, bon fire, marshmallow roasting, walk through the creek, sheep wrangling, go home wet and muddy... Lots and lots of fun!
In fact, Robbie wasn't thrilled about going. He said when we leaving to go there that he'd rather stay home if we'd let him. But guess who was the last one in the car when it was time to go home!
But mom was TIRED! Three days in a row of field trips, whew!
Today was 1st Grade Field Trip. Yes just one day after 4th grade field trip. Mommy is going to be tired!
It was a fun day. They went to the hospital, the fire station and a company that makes marketing materials. They showed the kids how shirts were silkscreened and then each one got to silkscreen their own shirt to take home. That was a hit with the kids!
Today was the 4th grade field trip to Parker Pioneer Homestead. It was one of my favorite of the kids field trips. There were people dressed in the clothing of the time period and giving demonstrations on how things were done on the homestead many years ago.

Ashlee pulled out her other top tooth today at school! Isn't she so cute! My big girl.
Today was Ryan's field trip to the district fair. Since the big kids were out for parent teacher conference day they got to go along on his field trip.

Long story short we have decided to do a complete remodel of the girls bedroom. This picture was actually taken in March of 2006 before we moved in. But other than having a bunch of little girls clothes and beds and other paraphenalia in it, it still looked the same upon start of the project.

OK, I'm pretty sure I planted this when I planted my tulip and daffodil bulbs. But I can't for the life of me remember what it is. Anybody have a clue?
Sad thing, I think I may have picked some of these as weeds before they bloomed.
Another beginner gardener funny... The mini-rose bush on the side of the house that never bloomed last year... Its a wild blackberry vine! It's blooming now and I know those aren't roses!
Aimee had her Spring Program at school on Friday. She had the opening line. "Welcome to our Spring program." She did a glowing job!
When I asked her what she wanted to wear earlier in the week she said she wanted a new outfit. I wasn't sure we should spend money on a new outfit but I knew since it was after the Easter holiday the dresses would be on sale. So we went shopping. I found this cute dress at The Children's Place in the mall. It was on the marked down clearance rack. We got it for $8.03 with tax! Gotta love a bargain!
Our other snow this season was just a light dusting. And last year we didn't quite get enough for a snowman either. So this was quite exciting! The kids made this snowman themselves no help from adults. We didn't have any carrots, so if you look closely you will see a red pepper nose.
Boxes! That's more than one! WOW!
Today we received packages from Doug and Donna Bates. Doug was Rob's wood shop teacher in high school. They have been special people in his life ever since. They even took the pain-staking time to teach him to dance for our wedding. Too bad I was too far away for those lessons! I could have really used them as well!
Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Presents! Donna was very sweet and careful to choose winter themed wrapping, knowing that as one of Jehovah's Witnesses I do not celebrate Christmas.
We had a great family evening opening, playing, reading and JUMPING!

Aimee named the little girl "Cheeri". So we decided the little boy should be "O". Collectively they are, Cheeri-O.

The puppies are just starting to walk pretty good. They went outside for their first time today. The little female even did a little poo poo out there. What a good girl!
They do tire out super fast though. Oh so cute!

The kids and I went to our Special Day Assembly today. We had a nice time. Ryan was a little challenging in the morning, but slep much of the afternoon. The newly remodelled hall is, or course, beautiful.

While mom and dad were visiting they bought me this stainless worktable for an island and the stools to go with it. I was so thrilled! I was missing my island from my Arizona kitchen and this was the prefect fix!
Watch for more updates on our house. We are working on painting the living room right now and recently got new furnture in there. And if I can keep my bedroom clean long enough perhaps I'll take a picture of that too. We painted that some time ago.
The puppies are getting so big! Both have their eyes opened now. The little boy (on right) is getting up on all fours just a little bit now.
Grandma and Grandpa visited us this week and the kids all got presents...

This is the back tree line to our property. The colors really struck me on this day and I had to go out and snap a couple of photos.
Can you say Awww...
I googled online and they look exactly like purebread boxer puppies. They are NOT burebread as you can tell from looking at their mother. But the dog that was caught in the yard a couple of times while Honey was in heat was a very big boxer.
We didn't even hear Honey birthing these puppies last night. She did so good you can not even tell puppies were birthed in her crate. She cleaned the place nicely.
I'm glad there are only two!
